Core Concepts
Blocks
Blocks are the building units of your content. The most basic is the text block — write your content and use the slash (/) command to add other block types.

Merging Blocks
Scattered Blocks on the canvas can be merged into one. Select two or more Blocks and click the merge blocks popup (or use ⌘ + Enter, or Ctrl + Enter on Windows).
This is helpful for organizing scattered ideas. Spread thoughts first, then group related content to form meaningful sections.

Splitting blocks
On canvas, a Block being edited can be split into two separate Blocks—whether it's a standalone Block or content inside a Shell. Use Command + Enter (or Ctrl + Enter on Windows) to divide at the cursor position.
This is useful when a new idea emerges while writing: split it into a separate Block, then merge or reorganize later as thinking evolves.
