This Quickstart guide walks you through how to get started with Arky.

Download the app here or go to http://app.arky.so to access Arky.

Create a project in Arky

You can start working by creating a new project.

After you sign in to Arky, click the Create Project button. Once the new project is created, you can start writing and organizing your work there.

Start with an import

You can get started by importing content you’ve already written into Arky.

Currently, you can import from:

• Markdown

• Notion (.zip)

Editing in the Canvas view

This part focuses on how the Canvas view works, which is well-suited for brainstorming and organizing your ideas.

Creating new items

Create new items on the canvas using the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

1. To create text, select the Text tool (T) and click anywhere on the canvas.

2. To create a shell, select the Shell tool (S) and click anywhere on the canvas.

Drag and drop

Use drag and drop to move items around the canvas and build a hierarchy.

• Drag an item to move it to a new position.

• Drag a text item into a shell to create a hierarchy.

• Drag a shell into another shell to nest your hierarchy.

Using AI Chat

Open the AI Chat tab by clicking the toggle in the top-right corner(⌘+L). From there, you can chat with the AI using your selected context and apply the results right away.

• Click an item and select Add to chat(⌘+L) to attach it as context for the AI.

• Ask mode: Drag and drop the response onto the canvas.

• Agent mode: Approve the AI’s suggested changes to update your content.

Switch to Document view

The Document view follows the order shown in the Outline tab on the left.

• In the top-right corner, use the Canvas toggle to switch to Document view.

• To reorder items, drag and drop them in the Outline tab.
